Dear members and friends of OSTIV, The OSTIV Congress 2021 will soon begin. You may already know that it will be a digital event, as the World Gliding Championships in Stendal, Germany, were cancelled due to the uncertainties and difficulties of COVID-19. I am glad to announce that I received confirmations for 36 digitally transmitted presentations by authors from 11 countries that will be held during the week of 19-23 July 2021. I think that we will enjoy an excellent programme, and you find more details attached. The OSTIV Congress will take place as a Webex meeting and you will also find the links needed to participate. There will be no need to register for the Congress as an OSTIV member, you only need a screen connected to the internet via a browser. In addition, we have created links to a virtual place where you can meet and communicate with other attendees to the Congress during breaks or whenever you want to do this. These links and more information are also provided in the attachment. The Congress will take place between 13:00 and 18:00 CET at every day of the Congress week. That will allow easy participation by delegates from Europe and the US. We would be glad to have a broad attendance to the Congress and Webex is pretty robust in that respect. Therefore, you can forward the attached file to friends and groups interested in research and technology of gliding, but do not publish it on web pages, since I do not want the Congress to be attended by disturbers. We are currently working on the Congress Proceedings. I plan to make this accessible via the OSTIV website right before the Congress begins.
